Parque Natural de Sintra - Palacio da Pena

Parque Natural de Sintra - Palacio da Pena

We made a hiking trail of 12 km in Cascais - Sintra region. It has a diversity of oak trees and many other wild species such as foxes, snakes, salamander and many more ...

It was unbelievable that we couldn't spot any of this species. But it was absolutely stunning to have the views on Sintra - Palacia da Pena and on Castelo de Mouros.

The palace is constructed in 20th century, quite lately, in the end of the monarchy of Portugal.
Fernando II, the king, worked intensively on decorative art. Also inside the palace the walls are decorated with loads of imagination.

Impressive is definitely the outdoor view from the terrace on the oddly sized towers.
