Pedrogao pequeno - Barragem de Albufeira
It's surprising how impressionant an artificial dam can be. Here in Pedrogao Pequeno, we can encounter a junction of the 'Ponte de Filipina' with some other trails.
Built during the Philippine Dynasty between 1607 and 1610, it replaced the original Roman bridge, which would exist in the immediate vicinity and was made out of wood.
Then we have the 'dam' or 'barragem' itself, in the Zêzêre- river.
The view is stunning from this altitude.
We can conclude that all walking trails are well-marked.
From Pedrogao Pequeno U can walk towards the village Serra de Milagres, traversing the 'Ponte de Filipinna'. Then U can continue on the other side. The view over the Zêzêre river is incredible.
Another impressionant bridge is this one, connecting both sides of the valley .
