Serra de Lousa
The Lousã Mountains are a habitat for deer and boar.
This mountain area is mainly frequented to practice extreme sports and its highest peak is the "Alto do Trevim" where visitors have stunning views.
We made a hike form Wikiloc, Daniel and me, and it was about 8,5 km long. We passed small villages like Talasnal... with adorable views.
Besides this, we had our 'almoço' or 'lunch' in Casa Nova.
This places have stunning views on the 'Castelo da Lousa'
In 1124, an Islamic incursion took The Castle and again after possession of the County of Portucalense, it was awarded with a charter in 1151, by D. Afonso Henriques.
Some small villages like Ermileo can be found in the valley with pittoresque views.
There is also a sanctuary, approximately 200 m away from the castle.
Daniel enjoyed the hike near to a 1500 m long 'Levada', transporting water from one village to another village. Roads are 'well-marked' by the yellow -red PR signs.
